Hear Her Story

THE POWER OF STORIES

Stories are powerful. They allow us to see the world through someone else’s eyes and get a sense of the events that have shaped them. They challenge our perceptions, appeal for more compassion and connect us.

In this gallery, you will find our first two series of stories of Latter-day Saint women in Europe. First, our series of living women is derived from interviews conducted in 2021 and 2022. Second, our series of historical women is based on ongoing historical research. Simply explore the map below and click on a marker to access a woman’s story, or scroll down and find all our stories in the gallery below the map. (TO BE EDITED)

All women, living or past, portray powerful stories of faith, dialogue, inclusion, courage and learning. We invite you to get to know these women through their accounts, let their stories touch you, and use and share them to empower, educate and inspire. We invite you to Hear Her Story.

Object of My Affection

The Object of My Affection series voices the extraordinary and ordinary Latter-day Saint women across Europe. Each storyteller was asked to choose an object that connects to their story. From a Portuguese mother with four watches to a British-Nigerian non-profit leader with a football, we invite you to click below and explore the stories of these women—and their objects—and follow along as they share stories of wisdom, courage, loss, love and faith.

Invisible Stories

Our Invisible Stories series gives voice to women from the past. These stories of courageous European Latter-day Saint women and their contributions help return their stories to their rightful place at the forefront of our collective historical narrative. Click below to explore the Invisible Stories and learn about women who were leaders in times of war, empowered fellow women and kept their families safe. To join in the ongoing research to uncover more of these stories, look below.

JOIN THE STORYTELLING

We invite you to join us in telling the stories of women across Europe. Our team and resources are limited, but together we can tell a wider and richer story of European women. Click below to learn how you can get involved.
